U.S. Navy Helicopter Crashes
La Times
September 22, 2013

A Navy Helicopter stationed in Coronado crashed into the Red Sea. The helicopter was carrying five people when it crashed. The helicopter was traveling over Syria to look over the warfare and check for more chemical weapon use. Since the helicopter crashed the status of the five passengers are still not determined. Search and Rescue teams have been sent by the navy. They have been undergoing searches with helicopters and search boats. The positive news about the situation is that the helicopter did not crash because of hostile reasons. This is just the beginning of the problems that Syria is causing for the US. Could there be even more severe problems coming from this situation?

  1. Jason has done a decent job on writing his blog post for this week. However, maybe next time it would be better to add even more information about the article. Furthermore, the post is too short. It must be minimum of 200 words, and it does not reach that requirement. Good job, just try to be more cautious next time.

  2. Although Jason’s post is short, it is a pleasant summary of the article. He has done an exceptional job in looking ahead and thinking of future affects the Syria issue can have on the U.S. Is the U.S. becoming overly involved to the point where it can be harmful to its own people? The news topic is strong, however in the future a bit more detail would be helpful.

  3. Nice summary Jason! For some reason reading a summary short but on point is more interesting and more understanding then a long summary that one would get bored of reading. Next time maybe including more details would be a better idea. U.S needs to start thinking more about the problems it has rather than checking on others.

  4. The lack of words in this blog post makes the comprehension much more straightforward. I personally prefer reading articles that are short and to the point over long and boring ones. Hopefully this act of courage will allow Mrs. Kirkman to obliterate the rule concerning the minimum word count of 200.
On behalf of the actual information in the blog post, I strongly believe that America’s interference in Syria will only bring awful things as it has and will continue to do so.

  5. Although the piece was a bit short, it was on point and it keeps the audience from reaching boredom. Maybe the source was not as detailed, but the topic itself is appealing. The post was concise and informative though it lacked some structure. It is quite sad to hear about people that took an act of heroism to experience such a thing. I enjoyed reading it even though it associates with politics. Nice work, Jason!

  6. Jason presented his topic in a very straightforward and factual manner. A article does not need to be long to be informative, which this blog is able to show. It does not make the reader become bored, tired or overwhelmed with information. As far as the information in the blog, the U.S. seems to become more and more interested in the situation in Syria, although many people wish we would not interfere.

  7. Jason's blunt and straightforward is not only short and concise, but it is refreshing due to the fact it is the only factual thing about Syria. The civil war in Syria has created a very depressing international situation where the Assad regime, multiple rebel factions, and major superpowers have all been staining human history with their personal agendas and their immoral actions in regard to their interests.
